Solution to the iPod power conundrum!
The iPod gets its' only source of power from a Firewire cable.
This is fine when you connect it to your desktop computer with a 6
to 6 pin Firewire cable. But most notebook computers have the
standard 4 pin Firewire receptacle which has no power supplied.
Your iPod can not be used and powered at the same time. This
is what happens with the Apple supplied cable:
No power!
But with the Newnex iPod cable you can use your notebook and supply
power to the iPod at the same time! The photo bellow shows the
iPod connected to a notebook computer and getting power from a power
adaptor:

The DC power receptacle is standard 3.5mm. You can get power from
a wall adaptor, or your car's cigarette lighter. Supply power to
your iPod and connect anywhere!
More
than the iPod! Our cable will let you power any 1394 device
which is bus powered. Useful for many applications!
Note: Check your
device's power requirements before connecting power to it. The
iPod needs 12 V DC.
