Newnex offers USB2.0 ready USB cables and connectors
Sunnyvale, CA - February 1, 2000
- Newnex Technology Corp. announced today that the USB connector
systems it manufactures meet and exceed the requirements
specified in the newly released USB ECN (Engineering Change
Notice) for USB specification 1.1, which is the most current
USB standard. This ECN addresses those areas where
USB1.1 was not clear or silent for testing USB cables and
connectors. The changes are:
- Add the attenuation limit (<5.8 dB at 4000 MHz)
- Specify the common mode impedance (Zcm) must be 30
Ohms
- Clarify one way cable delay is 5.2 ns/m
- Tighten cable skew to 100 ps
- Specify DC resistance from plug shell to plug shell
< 0.6 Ohms for EMI reduction
Testing data shown, by incorporating the above changes
as an ECN to USB 1.1 specification, Newnex connectors systems
will also support USB2.0 signaling rates. USB2.0 is the
faster version of USB1.1, which is capable to transfer data
at 480 Mbps or higher rate and fully forward and backward
compatible to USB.1.1. USB2.0 has been promoted by Compaq,
HP, Intel, Lucent, Microsoft, NEC and Philips. There are
about five hundred companies worldwide participating the
developing of USB2.0 specification and products. Newnex
USB connector systems include the following:
- Single Series A and Series B receptacles in either right angle or
vertical configuration
- Stacked Series A receptacle in right angle configuration
- Series A to B cable assemblies with standard lengths as 1, 2, 3 and
5 meters.
- Series A and to custom end cable assemblies in various lengths.
