Anaheim, CA – March 28, 2001
– Visitors flocked to the 1394 Trade Association booth during
demo hours, playing with the newest technology. The booth,
located near the front entrance, featured an impressive
roster of electronics-manufacturing leaders.
The 1394 Trade Association participating companies
included Texas Instruments, Agere (Lucent), Philips Semiconductors,
Molex, Zayante, Vivid Logic, ProComp Informatics USA, Newnex
Tehcnology, Pinnacle Systems and Phoenix Technologies. Many
of the show’s 1200 attendees made the stop at the
1394 demos, including several top editors from the leading
electronics, hardware and software publications in the U.S.
and Japan.
Each year, large companies come together with
mid-sized organizations and start-ups at WinHEC to show
off the latest 1394/FireWire products. 1394 continues to
outpace any other bus technology in supplying fast, reliable,
easy-to-use convergence capabilities linking consumer and
computer technology. The success at WinHEC bodes well for
the future of the 1394 standard as it prepares to move to
the 800 Megabit/second level."
