2. "Technical overview of IEEE1394", Dr. Sam Liu, President of Newnex Technology Corporation

3. "What's New in IEEE1394b", Mr. Max Bassler, Vice Chairman of 1394 Trade Association

Chinese engineers have learned a lot about IEEE 1394 in the 6th International IC-China Conference and Exhibition hold in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen this year. The speakers from 1394 Trade Association introduced the new development of IEEE 1394b through several presentations in the conference, showed their confidence of the market in China.

Mr. James Snider, chairman of 1394 Trade Association highlighted the market of 1394 product, especially in PC market. He also explained how 1394 won the battle for prominence in the consumer electronics markets, and provided details on market share. After Dr. Sam Liu, president of Newnex Technology Corp. gave a basic technical overview of the 1394 standard, Mr. Max Bassler, Vice Chairman of 1394 Trade Association outlined the enhancements made for 1394b. With 1394b providing 800 Mbps capability, and first versions of silicon now available, the "b" specification establishes a major breakthrough in 1394-enabled PC and peripheral applications.
